How this site and the Kinocular product concept are designed to handle data.
Last updated: October 2026
About this document
Kinocular is a concept for a digital AI caregiver-assistance platform, developed for a medical AI hackathon. It is not a shipped product, and this website does not run the monitoring system it describes. This policy covers two things: what this website itself collects from visitors, and the privacy principles the Kinocular product concept is designed around.
What this website collects
This site is a static set of pages. It does not use accounts, does not run analytics or advertising trackers, and does not ask visitors for personal information. Standard web server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be retained briefly by the hosting provider for security and reliability, as is typical for any website.
What the Kinocular concept is designed to do with patient data
- No facial recognition. The system is designed to read body movement and posture, not identity — there is no facial database or identity matching.
- Video stays with the camera feed. Kinocular is designed as a software layer on a camera a family already owns; it does not require uploading raw footage to be useful to anyone outside the caregiver circle it's shared with.
- Pause on multiple occupants. When more than one person is in frame, monitoring and recording are designed to pause automatically, and nothing from that period is intended to enter the patient's history or pattern data.
- Caregiver-controlled sharing. Event history is designed to be visible only to caregivers explicitly added to a patient's account, with no public or third-party sharing by default.
- No automatic contact with outside parties. The concept does not call emergency services, clinicians, or anyone else without a caregiver's decision to do so.
Third parties
This website loads web fonts from Google Fonts. No other third-party scripts, trackers, or advertising services are used on this site.
Changes to this policy
As this is a hackathon concept, this policy may be updated as the project develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above.
Contact
This is a student hackathon project without a deployed product or a support channel. Questions about the concept can be directed to the team listed on the Team page.
